Context
In Romania there are a significant number of industrial sites positioned in peri-urban areas, which currently have an uncertain status both in terms of reuse of infrastructure and real estate restructuring by demolition.
The constructs present, by the nature of the processes they have served, a high resistance which implies high costs for demolition and a disadvantage in local development.
On the other hand, the positioning of those sites in the outskirts of the cities allow rethinking their role in what today is defined as energy positive territory and their inclusion in local development strategies.
The reconversion of those areas in renewable power plants, where there are to be found several equipments producing energy from renewable sources, and we can represent the startup for local development strategies that lead to produce energy in a decentralized mode implying the ideea of smart cities, increasing energy efficiency, improving mobility, the introduction of smart technologies, etc.
